Special events are a popular tool for fundraising.
Also, they are often wildly ineffective.
Without proper planning and strategy, an event can be a massive waste of time and money - leading to a lackluster, "off-the-shelf" experience that your exhausts your staff, bores your audience, and doesn't speak to the organization's mission.
