Moving Beyond "Just OK"

I started this post by asking Microsoft Co-Pilot to create draft of a LinkedIn post on monthly giving. And it was … ok.
My first inclination was to scrap the whole thing and start from scratch.
But I realized that a “just ok” post is pretty on-brand for a lot of monthly giving programs.
A lot of nonprofits start a monthly giving program, and their program is, ultimately, “just ok.”
We know that monthly giving works. After all, it’s a great way to connect with individual donors and today’s technology makes it easier than ever to solicit recurring gifts.
The slide into mediocrity begins when nonprofits treat a list of monthly donors like the finish line – instead of the starting line. In other words, if your monthly donors don’t feature prominently in your stewardship and outreach plans, you’re missing out.
Assuming that your donors don’t need to learn about or engage with the mission because they’ve signed up for monthly giving is a mistake. I talk about this mistake – and another common one – in this week’s video.
If you want to more with your monthly donors – or build a monthly giving program of your own – drop a message or a comment and we’ll get started!
How are you keeping your monthly donors engaged with the mission?
