Clarity, Confidence, and Absolutes

Fundraising can feel confusing.
Depending on who you are listening to or what you are reading, you may think you need to add more events, cancel all your events, focus on major giving only, start a grants program, start a monthly giving program, start a board development committee, disband that committee, and change your CRM. Possibly all at once.
Oh, and call Amazon for a gift, while you are at it.
It's not that any of that advice is bad (well, the Amazon one is), but they require context and knowledge. It's that perspective that can turn noise into clarity.
Clarity changes everything in fundraising. It's how we focus on actions that will lead to stronger donor engagement, instead of chasing productivity alone. It's the difference between work that is strategic and work that feels overwhelming.
One way to start building a sense of clarity is by asking questions. Often, the assumptions we make about our fundraising methods are out of date or based on preference, not strategy. Relying on these assumptions can rob us of clarity. Beware of absolute statements: all our donors love X, none of our donors want to do Y, or we've always done Z.
Stories that are couched in absolutes can be comforting - and asking questions can be scary -- but on the other side of that discomfort is often a stronger, more effective fundraising plan.
The other way to start building clarity is by working with me to Align & Accelerate your fundraising.
I help clients build that sense of fundraising clarity - because I know what it's like to work without it. Through coaching, I help clients cut through noise and uncertainty. Together, we sharpen decision-making, strengthen messaging, and ensure that every action is connected to a larger purpose.
